We wanted to give awesome Samira at All About Models a shout out for doing a great job at keeping her keen eye on emerging talent at key markets across the globe. Just take a look at her selections and you’ll know what we mean– she obviously knows potential when she sees it. Keep up the great work Samira!

A sample post from our new favorite daily blog.
Now that the flood gates have been opened and Ren will soon start going through the dozens of emails of responders, I feel the need to throw a couple of tips out there that will make things easier for you and us.
I know that she looooves talking to all of you, but in general whether you are responding to our casting call or somebody else’s, you want to keep it short and sweet and to the point. Give us the stats ( make sure they are up to date), tell us a little bit about you and your past experience in a sentence or two and include a few images…we’ve been asked to define a few — 4 is a good number. The essence of the photos is a lot more important than the number included. For example if we are casting for something “dark and edgy,” you might shine a little brighter if you send us something in that style rather than a sweet polka-dot bikini shot.
Show variety, but also keep it real — you may not want to look completely different in each image sent. That makes you a bit of a liability as we don’t really know what we’d be getting by selecting you. Keep your portfolio updated — nobody likes surprises; if you showed us images with your loong loong hair and showed up to the shoot with boy- short hair, that would not be a good thing. If your images don’t represent your current appearance and you haven’t had the chance to update your port, just tell us what’s different.
Tell the truth. Pretty Please!
If we ask about the condition of your skin, it means we are planning something that would really require excellent skin. Yes, you can twist the truth but we will certainly not be too happy and will definitely not be too keen on casting you for something else in the future for which you may actually be a good match.
As you see, nothing earth-shattering here — just the same old basics…but you’d be surprised by how many of us forget the basics sometimes.
More random thoughts tomorrow.
